Tea Cups through America

The beauty of glass in the form of a decorative tea cup. Although you do not actually drink tea from it, this stained glass tea cup could be used in many functional and decorative ways. She suggests placing a small glass dish inside to hold water and then add some flowers. Simply beautiful and in the shop of Pam Angus on Etsy.

Now here is something from Papernclay's shop that made me smile. It is stimulus money that you can buy. $100.00 for $20.00! I do not see many deals as good as that! You can have it made as a pin or a pendant or just get it as it is so you can keep it in your pocket.

This pendant reminds me of the beautiful mums that are dotting the countryside where I live with much needed color. The wire wrapping accents the pendant perfectly and allows the tiny millefiori ( means "thousand flowers") to come alive. Check out the shop of Periwinklesuz on Etsy to learn more.

Petmemories is a CGGE member and offers a handcrafted way keeping a deceased pet close to your heart. A small portion of their ashes are incorporated in fused or lamp worked glass. I love these beads I found in her shop, but there were other wonderful ideas to choose from as well. Take a look, especially if you are looking for a way to memorialize a beloved pet.

This is Polly Piper and she is permanently fused onto red and vanilla glass by Pollyfusia. I know someone that is a bagpiper so this pretty piece caught my eye right away. You can find many different and unique designs in the shop. Visit soon!

This is such an elegant way of holding your wooden kitchen utensils. And if you are like me, and no longer have a full set, no worries here! Sierracreations not only created this stained glass holder, but she ships it to you full of utensils! I picked this one for the color and design but check out her shop for other styles.

This business card holder was created by sha's glass crafts and is one of many beautiful stained glass designs she has offered in her shop. I think that there are many people out there that would appreciate a unique way to display business cards in the studio, shop, craft fair or market. I love the lime green color and granite texture of the glass.

My last selection comes from the shop of Simply Lampwork. It is a focal bead, and was designed to honor America's past, present and future. I think that everyone that calls themselves an American should have one of these to carry in some way, each and every day. Keep it to remember that there are thanks to be given for what it means to be an American and to guide us in our actions as we live each day to encourage the best future for everyone that calls America home.

Halloween!

Thanksgiving is yummy, Christmas cozy, but the holiday I really love is Halloween. Who doesn't need an excuse to dress crazily and escape from the real world for a little while? Not to mention the candy!

Our CGGE team has been busy crafting some beautiful, whimsical, and downright creepy creations to put the fun into your Halloween this year.

Just Caught My Eye!

I spent some time browsing through fellow CGGE member's shops on Etsy. It really is amazing to see the many different ways that an artist can make their vision a reality using glass as a medium. These are some of my favorites, but check out their shops by clicking on the links to see what catches your eye!

This wonderful green apple pendant comes from the shop of Makena Lei Creations

A dragonfly fell in love with me one day last week. It followed me everywhere almost to the point of through the front door into the house. A beautiful pendant from Mango Tango Design
reminds me of my new friend.

This green grass bracelet can be found in the shop of marciamenendez. It is a beautiful green color, which I am missing with each fallen leaf that gets added to the piles now that Fall is here in New Jersey. I love the colors of the leaves in the Fall, but nothing beats the color of Spring and Summer in my opinion!

mouchette has something in her shop that would look wonderful in just any room of my house. Yes, it has a few leaves on it, but they look just like the ones from my favorite tree in my yard. This piece has it all: texture, depth, shape, color and pure beauty.

This piece, entitled "Hands Together" in found in the Etsy shop of Nanette Bevan and it has a special bale on the back so it can be worn as either a pendant or a brooch. I love the color combination and am partial to gold but what I really love is the message that I get from this piece; that standing together is important in so many different family, professional and community endeavors. It is ok to help and to be helped.

My final selection comes from the shop nivenglassoriginals. It is a
fun piece that brings a smile to my face. I would put it in my bathroom (It is a pin, but I could figure a way!), so that I remembered to take the time to at least find some chapstick and mascara before I left the house. Yes, some days are just that crazy around here. It will remind me that you usually feel better when you put your best face forward.

Enjoy checking out the shops these wonderful CGGE artists have on Etsy. You will be glad you did.

The start of a new season

This is my absolute favorite time of year with the crisp fall air, colorful leaf displays, the pumpkins ready to be picked off the vine, shopping for new winter clothes and getting the Halloween costumes planned out with the kids. What do you enjoy about autumn?
Here are some of my picks from the Creative Glass Guild of Etsy that really fit into this time of year when summer, though officially over, still tries to linger, and fall is quickly taking over. Enjoy!

Helixelemental's pumpkin and green floral dangles. These earrings are like my garden at the moment with the colors of summer and fall rolled into one. Perfect for this time of year!

Inferno Glass Bead's "reigning purple" handmade lamp work beads. Purple is a hot color this year! These beads would be perfect with the new top I just bought.

JS Glass Art's Halloween Candle Holder/Candy Dish. Just right for a pretty candle or to fill with some yummy Halloween candy!

Kerichrystian's "I love orange". Wonderful color and style to this bracelet of seed beads and shells.

Home Fried Bead's "Booooo". Halloween Mummy Focal Bead. This is just the cutest bead. I may just scoop it up myself!

Lawatha's "Leafy Tree". Fused glass pendant. The magestic tree in autumn splendor. Just beautiful.
